The International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners (ISCPP) in cooperation with the Albuquerque Police Department will present a three-day International Crime Prevention Specialist (ICPS) Training – featuring the new 2016 curriculum – on June 22-24, 2016, that will culminate with the ISCPP’s ICPS Test.  The training will be held at the Foothills Area Command 12800 Lomas Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87112

The three-day Training will give attendees a solid foundation of crime prevention knowledge and the resources and network contacts to continue their study after the Training.  It won’t make you an instant crime prevention expert – that takes years of study and fieldwork – but it will give you the basics and the resources so you can continue to learn and improve!

This training is open to anyone interested in learning more about crime prevention including crime prevention officers, crime prevention specialists, unit supervisors, volunteers, neighborhood watch coordinators, loss prevention managers and security professionals.

The cost of the training is $325 per person and includes 3 days of training, testing & test fees, the new 300 page ICPS Crime Prevention Curriculum and a one-year membership per attendee to the ISCPP.

This three-day training will cover the following 19 subjects:

All Instructors have attained the ICPS designation and are or have been practicing crime prevention specialist with exceptional presentation skills. There may also be instructors who have experience in a particular crime prevention topic.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is this a certification class?  No, this is not a certification class.  Once you pass the ICPS Test, you will receive the ICPS designation from the ISCPP stating you have demonstrated basic knowledge of crime prevention.  If this was a certification class, it would require re-certification annually or bi-annually.

Is there a test at the end of the class and is it easy?  Students who attend the training find the test to be challenging, but most people will complete the test satisfactorily.  If you haven’t attended the training, most people find the test ranging from daunting to impossible.

What do I receive at the end of the class? A 300 page crime prevention resource book, a one-year membership to the ISCPP, and hopefully the ICPS designation.
