Sheryl Pelletier, DCJ, ICPS

Dr. Sheryl Pelletier is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation at Jacksonville State University, where she also serves as the Graduate Program Coordinator. She holds a Doctor of Criminal Justice (DCJ) from Saint Leo University (2022) with an emphasis in Education, and a Master of Science (MS) in Criminal Justice (2018) with an emphasis in Legal Studies from the same institution. Dr. Pelletier
also earned a Paralegal Certificate from Inver Hills Community College (2009) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University (2007).

Her professional experience includes roles as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampa and St. Leo University, and prior experience as a Paralegal. Dr. Pelletier is a Certified Online Instructor and a Crime Prevention Specialist.

Actively engaged in the academic community, Dr. Pelletier is a member of the Southern Criminal Justice Association, the American Society of Criminology, and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. She also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Criminal Justice and Law for the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Her research interests include qualified immunity, court policies and procedures, and the impact of legislative policies on criminal justice professionals and the community.
