ISCPP Awards: Recognizing Excellence in Crime Prevention

The International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners (ISCPP) is proud to honor outstanding individuals, teams, and organizations who demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and leadership in the field of crime prevention.

Our awards celebrate those who go above and beyond, whether through a lifetime of service, a community initiative, groundbreaking research, or sustained impact in their agency or region.

Awards are presented during the ISCPP International Symposium, a biennial gathering of crime prevention professionals from around the world. The ceremony is a highlight of the event, providing a platform to share success stories and inspire others to raise the standard in their own communities.

Award Categories

The ISCPP recognizes achievements across multiple areas. Award categories include, but are not limited to:

  • George B. Sunderland Practitioner of the Year Award
  • Crime Prevention Volunteer of the Year
  • Crime Prevention Unit Excellence
  • Innovative Program or Initiative
  • Business of The Year
  • Community Based Crime Prevention Program of the Year
  • Business or Corporate Leadership in Crime Prevention
  • Media Contribution to Public Safety Awareness
  • Youth or Campus Safety Program Recognition

Each award reflects a specific aspect of service or achievement, allowing both individuals and organizations to be recognized for their unique contributions.

How Nominations Work

Nominations are open to ISCPP members, agencies, and partners. Submissions must include:

  • A completed nomination form
  • A detailed description of the nominee’s contribution or achievement
  • Supporting materials (photos, articles, reports, or testimonials, if applicable)

Nominations are reviewed by the ISCPP Awards Committee, which selects finalists based on impact, innovation, community engagement, and alignment with ISCPP’s mission.

Winners are contacted in advance of the Symposium and invited to attend the ISCPP Awards Ceremony, where they are formally recognized before their peers.

Why It Matters

Crime prevention is often quiet, local, and thankless work. These awards are about shining a light on those who protect others, not for recognition, but because they care.

Award recipients serve as examples of what is possible when expertise, collaboration, and commitment are brought together in service of public safety.
