The 27th Annual ISCPP
Symposium was held November 9-12, 2005 at the
University Place Conference
Center and Hotel in
Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
Prior to the Symposium, there was a There will be a three-day International Crime Prevention Specialist
(ICPS) Training and Testing on November 6-9, 2005. The Training used the
new International Crime Prevention Specialist (ICPS) 2005 Curriculum.

The actual Symposium began on Thursday with opening
ceremonies including the presentation of colors and welcoming remarks from
representatives from the Indianapolis Mayor's office, Indianapolis Police, and
the County Sheriff's Office.

We were welcomed by
representatives from law enforcement in Indianapolis and the city government.

Symposium Chair Shirley Purvitis, ICPS from Indianapolis
did a remarkable job working with the hotel, arranging the speakers and helping
attendees. Many commented on the high quality of instructors and the great
information sharing.

The keynote presentation was by Lt. Colonel (retired) Dave
Grossman. His presentation on "Stop Teaching Our Children to Kill" was
riveting!

There were several highlights including Indianapolis Night
- an optional activity - that included dinner at P. F. Chang's China Bistro in
downtown Indianapolis. We also had a fantastic international Luncheon
where several people shared special programs of note in their community.
We had a tremendous Awards Banquet (please see the
AWARDS page for a list of winners).
We had a fun silent auction that raised more than $300 for the ISCPP.
